AlphaWeb Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information AlphaWeb collects when you visit our website or contact us, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. We keep it plain and direct, the same way we run our projects.
Who we are
AlphaWeb is a veteran owned team of WordPress specialists that designs, builds, and supports websites, apps, and digital products. In this policy, "AlphaWeb," "we," "us," and "our" mean AlphaWeb, the operator of this website at https://alphaweb.com. For the purposes of data protection laws such as the GDPR, AlphaWeb is the controller of the personal information described here.
This policy covers our website and the communications you have with us through it. It does not cover websites, apps, or systems we build or host for our clients. Those are governed by each client's own privacy policy and by our agreements with them.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out a contact form, a project quote request, or another form on this site, we collect the details you choose to share. That usually includes:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Your company or organization name and website
- Project details, budget, timeline, and any message or files you include
- Your communication preferences
If you email, call, or meet with us, we also keep a record of that correspondence. Please do not send sensitive information (such as health, financial account, or government ID details) through our forms.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers and the tools that run this site automatically record certain technical information when you visit, including:
- Your IP address and an approximate location derived from it
- Browser type, device type, operating system, and language settings
- The pages you view, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit
- Server and security logs used to keep the site running and protect it from abuse
We may also use privacy conscious analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site, such as which pages are most popular. We use this information to improve our content and design, not to build profiles of individual visitors.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. We use them sparingly:
- Essential cookies that keep the site secure and working, including cookies that help forms submit correctly and prevent spam.
- Login cookies for our team and anyone with an account. Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check that your browser accepts cookies. Login cookies last for two days, or two weeks if you choose "Remember Me," and screen options cookies last for one year. Logging out removes the login cookies.
- Analytics cookies, where used, that help us measure site traffic in aggregate.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some parts of the site, such as forms, may not work properly. Where the law requires your consent for non essential cookies, we will ask for it first.
Embedded content and third party resources
Pages and articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, social media posts, or fonts loaded from other services. Embedded content behaves the same way as if you visited the other website directly. Those services may collect data about you, set cookies, add their own tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you have an account and are logged in with them. Their own privacy policies govern that data.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to your questions, quote requests, and project inquiries
- Plan, deliver, and support the work you hire us to do
- Send you information you ask for, and occasional updates if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website, including preventing spam, fraud, and abuse
- Understand how our site is used so we can improve our content and services
- Meet our legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations, and protect our legal rights
We do not use your personal information for automated decision making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with similar laws, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent, for example when you opt in to updates or accept non essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contract, when we need your information to respond to a quote request or to deliver services you have asked for.
- Legitimate interests, such as running and securing our website, understanding how it is used, and responding to business inquiries, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation, when we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising. We share it only as described below:
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting, form processing, email delivery, analytics, security, and spam prevention. They may only use your information to provide services to us and must protect it.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, and insurers, when needed.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AlphaWeb, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers, if AlphaWeb is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information may transfer subject to this policy.
- With your permission, in any other case where you ask us to share it.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
- Contact and quote form submissions: kept for up to 24 months after our last interaction, unless you become a client.
- Client project records: kept for the length of our relationship and up to 7 years afterward for legal, tax, and accounting purposes.
- Server and security logs: usually kept for no more than 12 months.
- Analytics data: kept in aggregate or deidentified form for up to 26 months.
- Registered user accounts (if any): kept until the account is deleted. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except their username. Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Where your data is sent
AlphaWeb is based in the United States, and our website and service providers mainly process data in the United States. If you visit from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in a country that may have different data protection laws than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy framework our providers participate in. Form submissions may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
How we protect your data
Security is part of how we build every site. We use HTTPS encryption, access controls, strong authentication for our team, regular software updates, backups, and monitoring to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
What rights you have over your data
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your personal information
- Portability, meaning a copy in a structured, commonly used, machine readable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests and direct marketing
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already happened
- Complain to your local data protection authority
Some information may be kept where we are required to retain it for administrative, legal, or security purposes. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
California residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to access, correct, and delete it; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories described above (identifiers, commercial and professional information you provide, internet activity, and approximate geolocation) from you and your device, for the purposes described in this policy. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we do not knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Residents of other US states
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, New Jersey, and others, may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and if you are not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.
How to make a request
To exercise any of these rights, reach us through our contact page. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by confirming details you have already given us, and we will respond within the time required by law, generally 30 to 45 days.
Children's privacy
Our website is meant for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in some regions), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please let us know through our contact page and we will delete it.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for these signals, our site does not respond to them. Where the law requires it, we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser.
Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites, including client projects, partners, and resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or the law. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we may give additional notice. Your continued use of the site after an update means the updated policy applies.
Contact us
