Bevessere App: Bilingual Brewery Menus in Puglia

Birrificio Bevessere, a craft brewery in Alberobello, Italy, built a bilingual menu app for its two venues on the AppPresser platform.

A brewery among the trulli

Birrificio Bevessere makes its beer in Alberobello, the Puglia town known for cone roofed stone houses called trulli. The brewery also runs two places to drink it, and its app gives every guest the menu for either one, in Italian or English, on their own phone. The brewery built the app with AppPresser's app builder.

The beers behind the menu

The range moves from a blonde and a red ale to an IPA, a blanche, a pils and a Belgian style ale, with seasonal batches in between. Bevessere also sells to pubs, restaurants and bars and pours at events. It reports using life cycle assessment to measure and cut the environmental footprint of brewing and packaging.

How a guest uses it

The app opens on a golden screen with one question: Bevessere Beerkitchen or Taverna Bevessere?

At the Beerkitchen, the menu runs through beers, starters, panini, pizzas, mains, salads and sides. At the Taverna, it covers beers, starters, panini, pizzas and drinks. Flags at the top switch every label between Italian and English.

Each beer gets a short tasting note in both languages and its alcohol content. Both Volver beers carry a gluten free label, allergens are noted throughout, and items that may have been frozen are flagged. A news area shares brewery initiatives and upcoming events.

The people it helps

Tables can browse without waiting for a printed menu, guests with food allergies can check before ordering, and English speaking tourists in Alberobello read everything in their own language. Regulars also get event news without following another social account.

Under the hood

The brewery's WordPress site uses Astra, Elementor, WooCommerce and Contact Form 7. Bevessere built the app itself on AppPresser, which pulls menus straight from that site, so changing a price or adding a seasonal beer happens in one place.

Beyond news apps

Hospitality is a good fit for this approach. A menu that is always current, bilingual and specific to each venue is something guests actually open.
