Project summary
- Built by: our team at AppPresser
- Client: The Cura Foundation, a nonprofit focused on improving global health and reducing human suffering
- Services: Information architecture, website design and WordPress development
- Platform: WordPress
- Core idea: Make a wide ranging mission easy to understand, explore and support

The challenge: a big mission with many moving parts
The Cura Foundation works across disease prevention, medical research, education and direct aid, with an emphasis on equity and innovation. It also convenes summits and think tanks and publishes a newsletter. That breadth is a strength, but it can overwhelm a visitor who lands on the homepage and does not know where to start. The site needed a structure that explains who Cura is in seconds and then lets people go as deep as they want.
Our approach
Lead with a clear promise
The homepage opens with a direct message, Unite to Improve Human Health, supported by bold, human centered imagery. Further down, three short statements, We Are, We Unite and We Drive, each come with a brief explanation, so visitors grasp the foundation's goals without hunting through pages.

A mega menu that mirrors how the work is organized
We built the main navigation as a mega menu with four expandable areas:
- About Us: history, leadership, partnerships, awards and publications, plus contact, donation and engagement options
- Our Work: public health education, science based innovation and global events
- Areas of Focus: cross disciplinary topics such as regenerative medicine, environmental sustainability, interfaith dialogue and humanitarian outreach
- Giving Back: PSA campaigns, food security efforts and direct aid programs

Two actions that are always one click away
CuraLink and Donate sit permanently in the top right corner. Whatever page a visitor is reading, the foundation's two highest impact actions are visible.

Spotlighting the people behind the progress
Cura brings together scientists, physicians, ethicists, philanthropists, spiritual leaders and policymakers. The site reflects that by giving prominence to CuraLink, a curated newsletter featuring perspectives from experts across science, medicine, ethics and public service.

Built for editors as well as visitors
The WordPress build supports many content types, including press releases, downloadable reports, donation workflows and event coverage, while keeping the front end fast and accessible. Every template was designed for consistency, so the Cura team can publish updates in house without calling a developer for each change. The layout adapts to desktop, tablet and phone.
Results in plain terms
- A homepage that states the mission immediately
- Navigation that matches the foundation's real programs
- Persistent paths to subscribe and donate
- An editing experience the internal team can own
Lessons for mission driven organizations
- If your work spans many programs, let the navigation do the explaining.
- Keep your two most important actions visible on every page.
- Give your experts and partners a visible platform; it builds credibility.
