Discovery Communications is the global media company behind Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery and Eurosport. Its corporate site is the information hub for press, job seekers and anyone following company news, and Brian led a full design and build of it on WordPress.

The challenge

A company present in 220 countries and territories needed a corporate home that showed that reach, gave journalists a clear newsroom and made recruiting easier.
The approach
Custom design and theme
The site received a complete custom design and a WordPress theme built for it alone.
Discovery around the world
A custom Mapbox implementation produced an interactive map of Discovery's international footprint and the networks behind its 2.9 billion cumulative subscribers.
A real newsroom
The Newsroom groups programming, corporate and impact stories, the last covering philanthropic work, alongside press releases and related updates.
Careers built on custom post types
A careers section powered by a custom post type and an iCIMS integration lets job seekers narrow open roles to what fits them. It also gives Discovery space for diversity and inclusion statements, internships, employee benefits and team recognition, with a grid that spotlights priority career areas.

The outcome
In April 2016 the site was nominated for a Webby Award in the Corporate Communications category. Other enterprise work is collected in case studies, and the services behind it are on the services page.
