WooCommerce 10.5 was released on February 4, 2026, one day after its planned date. It changes how order data is imported into Analytics, shows product thumbnails for multi package shipments in the Checkout block and brings a long list of admin and storefront performance work, including two experimental caching features.
The release lists 351 commits from 83 contributors and includes database updates. The minimum requirements stay at WordPress 6.8 and PHP 7.4. Two follow up releases, 10.5.1 on February 10 and 10.5.2 on February 13, 2026, dealt with an add to cart regression and are covered below.
Analytics imports move to 12 hour batches
New WooCommerce stores now default to Scheduled Imports, which refresh analytics data every 12 hours in batches of 100 orders. Previously, WooCommerce queued an import job for every order event through Action Scheduler, which WooCommerce says could build backlogs of more than 10,000 actions on busy sites. The interval and batch size can be changed with the woocommerce_analytics_import_interval and woocommerce_analytics_regenerate_batch_size filters. Existing stores need to opt in from the Analytics settings, and store owners can trigger an update manually.
Busy stores and slow dashboards. If a client's Action Scheduler queue is full of analytics jobs, this setting is usually the fix. We check the queue size first, opt the store in on staging, confirm the reports still match recent orders after a manual import and then make the same change in production during a quiet period.
Multi package shipping in the 10.5 Checkout block
When an order contains more than one package, the Checkout block now shows product thumbnails and separate containers for each one, which WooCommerce notes is especially helpful for subscription stores and shops that split shipments. The same change fixed shipping methods not syncing when shoppers toggled between Ship and Pickup.
Split shipments at checkout. Stores that combine subscriptions with one time purchases often show several shipping packages. We place mixed carts on staging, switch between delivery and pickup, and confirm each package shows the right items and rates before shoppers see the new layout.
Admin and storefront speedups in WooCommerce 10.5
- The Recent Reviews dashboard widget loads up to 98% faster
- Variation prices are cached more efficiently
- Product Filters stopped flooding the database with filter cache data on large catalogs
- An experimental REST API cache can be applied to any WooCommerce REST endpoint
- Experimental product object caching avoids loading the same product from the database more than once per request
Testing experimental caching. Experimental caches can speed up a store or produce stale prices, depending on the extensions in play. We only trial them on staging with the client's full plugin set, comparing prices, stock and cart totals with the cache on and off before recommending either feature.
Permalinks, shipping tax and plugin styling changes in 10.5
- Product permalinks that include a category now use the deepest assigned category, and WooCommerce redirects old URLs with a 301
- A new
woocommerce_shipping_tax_classfilter lets developers calculate shipping tax from cart contents, customer data and location, with the Netherlands given as an example - Select2 dropdown styles are scoped so they no longer leak into other plugins' screens
- Orders with legacy tax data stored as floats or strings now display correctly in the admin
Category based product URLs. Changing product URLs touches SEO, so we check this one carefully on stores that use "Shop base with category" or a custom %product_cat% base. We crawl the staging catalog before and after the update, confirm each old URL returns a single 301 to the new one and update sitemaps and internal links where needed.
The 10.5 add to cart regression and its reversal
WooCommerce 10.5 disabled the Add to Cart button on variable products until the variation script loaded. Stores that customized or dequeued that script reported they could not add variable products to the cart. WooCommerce 10.5.1, released on February 10, 2026, narrowed the change, reverted the Recent Reviews widget to its previous version, fixed the shop page in the Divi theme and added token validation to the PayPal Standard shipping callback. WooCommerce 10.5.2, released on February 13, 2026, reverted the original change entirely.
Variable products after an update. A store that cannot add products to the cart is losing money every minute, so variable product checks are part of every WooCommerce update we run. For this release, the safe target was 10.5.2, and we added variable products with each attribute combination on staging before moving any client store forward.
WooCommerce 10.5 FAQ
Do existing stores get Scheduled Imports automatically?
No. New stores use it by default, while existing stores opt in from the Analytics settings.
Will my product URLs change?
Only if your permalinks include the product category and a product is assigned to categories at different depths. Old URLs are redirected with a 301.
Which 10.5 release should stores install?
The add to cart change was fully reverted in 10.5.2, released on February 13, 2026.
