WooCommerce 11.1

WooCommerce 11.1 was released on September 3, 2026, and requires WordPress 7.0 or newer, with PHP 7.4 still the minimum. Variation image galleries are on for every store, an optional EU Order Withdrawal form is available, and Store API and REST requests are 30 to 42 percent faster.

Grok Bot for Enterprise from xAI

What shipped

On September 3, 2026, xAI made Grok Bot available to enterprises, with access, network and audit controls. Group Access lets admins give every team member Grok Bot or limit it to specific groups. Audit Logs record when Bots are created, when access changes and when team setup changes. Admins set a network access policy for their team's Bots, start team trials from the dashboard and get isolated environments where a Bot has no access by default. Grok and Cursor Enterprise customers received two weeks of free usage.

What it means for you

IT teams get the controls they need before rolling agents out across an organization, and a Bot reaches only the accounts a person signs it into.

How we use it in WordPress builds

With Grok Bot, we help organizations plan groups, network policy and audit review before rollout, then build Bots for content and site operations.

What it means for mobile apps

App teams can be given their own Bot group for release notes, support summaries and app store reporting for an AppPresser app.

What to do next

  • Decide which groups get access first and review Audit Logs weekly during the pilot.

Grok Bot Marketplace from xAI

What shipped

Grok Bot version 0.41.0 on September 4, 2026, added ready made Bots to the Marketplace, each with its own page, and a Verified badge for Bots made by the Grok Bot team. Version 0.48.0 on September 9 gave the Marketplace one homepage with featured picks, plugins popular with your team and search as you type, and added switching between multiple accounts.

What it means for you

Teams can start from a ready made Bot instead of building every one from scratch.

How we use it in WordPress builds

We check Marketplace Bots and plugins against a client's needs before building anything custom, and only connect the apps a Bot actually needs.

What it means for mobile apps

Ready made Bots can give app teams a faster start on routine reporting.

What to do next

  • Browse the Marketplace for your common tasks before commissioning a custom Bot. Learn more about Grok.

Grok Bot 1Password sign in and file uploads from xAI

What shipped

On September 15, 2026, Grok Bot version 0.53.0 from xAI let Bots on a Mac sign in with logins saved in 1Password, connected from the Marketplace. The Bot asks first before using a login unless you turn on Auto fill. Bots can upload files to Google Drive or OneDrive or attach them to a Gmail draft, and the Bot's computer uses your time zone. Version 0.52.0 added pausing and resuming routines.

What it means for you

A Bot can sign into the sites your team uses without you typing each password, and deliver finished files where your team keeps them.

How we use it in WordPress builds

With Grok Bot, we keep login approval on so a person confirms each sign in, and use Drive or OneDrive uploads for reports a Bot builds from WordPress data.

What it means for mobile apps

A Bot can drop app store reports for an AppPresser app straight into the team's shared folder.

What to do next

  • Share only the logins a Bot needs and keep Auto fill off at first.

Claude Fable 5.1 from Anthropic

What shipped

On September 15, 2026, Anthropic released Claude Fable 5.1 on the Claude API and partner clouds, alongside Claude Mythos 5.1 for verified organizations. Fable 5.1 has a 1M token context window, up to 128k output tokens and always on adaptive thinking. It costs $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, with cache reads at $0.25 per million, which Anthropic estimates makes typical workloads about 25 percent cheaper. Forced tool use returns an error, so integrations that force a specific tool need updating.

What it means for you

Very large documents, codebases or knowledge bases can be worked on in one pass, and cheaper caching lowers the cost of repeated instructions.

How we use it in WordPress builds

For Claude integrations, we use Fable 5.1 for long research and document work where its context window matters, and check existing integrations for forced tool use before switching.

What it means for mobile apps

Fable 5.1 suits back end jobs behind an app, such as building summaries from large content libraries, rather than live in app replies.

What to do next

  • Reserve Fable 5.1 for the hardest long jobs and use lower cost models elsewhere.

GPT-6 Astra from OpenAI

What shipped

On September 3, 2026, OpenAI introduced GPT-6 Astra, a model for computer use, coding and demanding professional work, rolled out in stages across ChatGPT, the OpenAI API and major cloud platforms. It is available in ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise, in the API as gpt-6-astra and on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Bedrock. API pricing is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, with a fast mode at twice the speed for twice the price. Enterprise admins enable the model, which is off by default. OpenAI also announced Sites in ChatGPT and an experimental Codex feature that keeps notes across context windows on long tasks.

What it means for you

Computer use means AI can operate software that has no API, such as older back office tools, under supervision.

How we use it in WordPress builds

For ChatGPT and OpenAI integrations, we reserve Astra for hard multi step jobs, such as moving data out of legacy systems into WordPress, and use lower cost models for routine work.

What it means for mobile apps

Astra suits back end jobs behind an AppPresser app, such as preparing content, rather than high volume in app replies.

What to do next

  • List tasks your team does by hand in software with no API and test one with Astra.

GPT-Live-1 in the OpenAI API

What shipped

On September 10, 2026, OpenAI launched GPT-Live-1 in its API. It is a full duplex voice model that listens and speaks at the same time and hands reasoning and tool calls to a backend model such as GPT-6 Astra. Developers connect to a Live endpoint over WebRTC or WebSockets with the model ID gpt-live-1. It adds telephony support, more voices, better handling of background noise and built in transcripts. Voice sessions cost $0.05 per minute, billed per second, with backend model and tool usage billed separately. OpenAI says Speak saw interruptions cut by almost 80 percent compared with turn based systems.

What it means for you

Voice agents can handle interruptions naturally, which makes phone and in app voice support feel less robotic.

How we use it in WordPress builds

We can build phone or website voice agents that answer from a client's WordPress content and pass bookings or leads into WordPress or a CRM.

What it means for mobile apps

AppPresser apps can add a voice assistant that answers questions about app content, with the voice session set up through the client's server.

What to do next

  • Start with the questions callers ask most and budget for both voice minutes and backend model usage.
  • Talk to us about an AI implementation pilot.

App Store Opens iOS 27 Submissions and Sets an April 2027 SDK Minimum

What shipped

Apple opened submissions for its 27 releases on September 9, 2026 and set the next SDK floor:

  • Apple opened App Store submissions for iOS 27 and the other 27 releases on September 9, 2026.
  • Starting April 2027, iOS and iPadOS apps uploaded to App Store Connect must be built with the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 SDK or later.
  • macOS 27 is Apple silicon only; macOS 26 is the final release supporting Intel Macs.
  • Apps with social media capabilities need to indicate them in App Store Connect.

What it means for you

Apps have until April 2027 to switch to the iOS 27 SDK. Building early lets you catch design changes before the deadline.

How we use it in WordPress builds

The SDK floor is about the app binary. Push notification plugins and REST endpoints in WordPress keep working with apps built on either SDK.

What it means for mobile apps

We will rebuild AppPresser apps with Xcode 27 ahead of the April 2027 cutoff and test on iOS 27.

What to do next

Plan an Xcode 27 build before April 2027. See our App Store submission guide.

Angular security advisories

What shipped

The Angular team published these security advisories in this period:

  • CVE-2026-101895 (high): denial of service through an infinite loop on a malformed DOCTYPE in SSR, in @angular/platform-server

What it means for you

These flaws are in the Angular framework, not in WordPress. They matter if you run an Angular front end, an Ionic Angular app or server side rendering in front of WordPress.

How we use it in WordPress builds

On headless WordPress front ends built with Angular, we update the @angular packages to the fixed version for the project's major line and rerun rendering, login and form tests.

What it means for mobile apps

Ionic Angular apps ship Angular inside the app, so a fix for code that runs in the app needs a rebuild and a new store submission.

What to do next

  • Update to Angular 22.1.6, 21.2.23 or 20.3.31 or later.
  • Ask our mobile app team to rebuild and resubmit an affected app.

iOS 27 Ships With Siri AI, Time Allowances and Faster App Launches

What shipped

Apple released iOS 27 on September 14, 2026:

  • Apple released iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27 and tvOS 27 on September 14, 2026.
  • Siri AI began rolling out as a beta in English.
  • Screen Time adds daily time allowances across Entertainment, Games and Social Media apps.
  • Apple says apps launch up to 30 percent faster on iPhone and iPad.
  • iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27 and tvOS 27 were released the same day.

What it means for you

Users get time limits by app category, so an app's category and age rating answers now affect how parents can restrict it.

How we use it in WordPress builds

Faster launches and Siri changes do not need any WordPress work. The part that touches WordPress is content: if an app shows member posts or comments from WordPress, that content shapes how Time Allowances and age ratings treat the app.

What it means for mobile apps

We test each AppPresser app on iOS 27 for layout and login issues and confirm push notifications still arrive.

What to do next

Test your app on iOS 27 and fix any layout problems before users report them. Our custom mobile app team can run the test pass.

nginx 1.30.5 and 1.31.6 Fix a Buffer Overflow in the HTTP/3 Module

What shipped

nginx.org released 1.30.5 and 1.31.6 on September 15, 2026:

  • nginx 1.30.5 and 1.31.6 were released September 15, 2026.
  • Both fix CVE-2026-90439, a buffer overflow in ngx_http_v3_module rated medium.
  • Versions 1.29.2 through 1.31.5 were listed as vulnerable.

What it means for you

Only servers with HTTP/3 enabled are exposed. HTTP/3 code in nginx has needed several fixes in 2026, so servers that turn it on should expect to patch often.

How we use it in WordPress builds

We enable HTTP/3 on some WordPress hosts for faster mobile page loads. Those servers were updated.

What it means for mobile apps

HTTP/3 helps apps on unstable mobile connections. Keep it on, but keep the server patched.

What to do next

Update to 1.30.5 or 1.31.6 or later if HTTP/3 is on. Our WordPress security and hosting team can check your config.

MariaDB 13.0 Reaches Stable as a Rolling Release

What shipped

The MariaDB Foundation declared 13.0 stable in September 2026:

  • MariaDB 13.0.2 is listed on mariadb.org as the first stable 13.0 release, dated September 15, 2026.
  • 13.0 is a rolling release, not a long term support release.
  • mariadb.org lists the LTS series as 10.11, 11.4, 11.8 and 12.3.

What it means for you

Rolling releases get short support windows. Production WordPress sites are better served by an LTS series.

How we use it in WordPress builds

We use LTS releases for client databases and test rolling releases only on staging.

What it means for mobile apps

Rolling database releases have no effect on app builds. Since we keep production on LTS, apps see no change from 13.0.

What to do next

Keep production on 11.8 or 12.3 LTS. Our WordPress security and hosting team plans database versions.

How AlphaWeb handles updates for you

We follow WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP and the major releases from xAI, Anthropic and OpenAI, test each update on staging and apply it on your schedule. Hosting and server changes are covered by our WordPress security and hosting service.

We also track the server, app platform and payment releases behind your site and app, including App Store, Angular, iOS, nginx and MariaDB. Our WordPress security and hosting plans keep servers and databases patched, and our mobile app team handles SDK, policy and store changes for AppPresser and Ionic apps.

Frequently asked questions

What does WooCommerce 11.1 require?

WordPress 7.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.

Do I need to remove Additional Variation Images myself?

No. WooCommerce deactivates the extension on update and migrates its gallery data into core.

Does the order withdrawal form issue refunds?

No. A request does not change the order status or issue a refund. The store handles each request by hand.

Does Claude Fable 5.1 need changes to an existing Claude integration?

Only if the integration forces the model to call a specific tool. Forced tool use returns an error with Fable 5.1, so those calls need updating and testing on staging first.

How is GPT-Live-1 priced?

$0.05 per minute of voice session, billed per second, with backend model and tool usage billed separately.

When must apps be built with the iOS 27 SDK?

Apple says starting April 2027 for uploads to App Store Connect. Apps can keep shipping with the iOS 26 SDK until then.
